FACES AROUND THE FARM
A brief introduction into the people and dogs you will see around Saffioraire. Whether you visit us at our Yarra Valley property, or see us out and about at an event or show. A nice way to introduce the faces that make up Saffioraire - so you can get to know us a little...

WHATS IN A NAME..?
Many people ask us 'how do you pronounce your name?' and 'what does it mean?'! So we thought we'd give you a quick run down!
PRONOUNCE
Saff - E - Or - Air
Believe it or not there is many a meaning behind the name as well! As it is not easy acquiring a breeders Prefix we combined several special sentiments to come up with "Saffioraire"
SAFFRON - Is the meaning of 'Kesari' in Hindu
FIOR - Is 'Pure' in Gaelic
AOIRE - Is 'Shepherd' in Gaelic
The reason behind opting for Gaelic words is also one of sentiment. 'Rhiannon' was a celtic Goddess - of White Creatures, Horses and Birds!
US IN A NUTSHELL
While we identify as a 'Breeder' the dogs are here for much more than just producing more dogs! They are a big part of our family life, spending their time inside and out, they are included in almost every aspect of our daily lives!
Living on a large property enables us to allow the dogs to do as they please when we are home, and they spend their time running around, swimming in the dam, chasing balls and laying about. They spend the nights, and Winter cold inside the house with us. We feed our dogs a premium quality dry food individual to their needs, with plenty of raw bones and meat, and we train only with fresh quality treats. It is of the utmost importance to us that our dogs are fed the best possible foods available to them, as we want them to live long happy lives with minimal health issues, as every caring owner does.
We treasure the animals we keep around us, be it the dogs, cat, goats, horses, chickens, etc, and respect the welfare and rights of each of them. This extends beyond more than just a requirement of sharing our lives with other living creatures, but as a part of our own personal values. As a result of this we only associate ourselves with others who uphold a similar value system, be it other 'Kennels' who abide by an ethical standard of breeding and hold a great respect for their dogs, or simply other dog or animal owners. We in no way tolerate any unethical practices that compromise a dogs health or happiness, or that of any other living being.
If you give love and respect, this is what you shall receive back, and this in itself is the greatest gift of all!
Both Bondy and I have grown up with dogs, and the White Swiss Shepherd Dog's endere to both our hearts. It is this mutual appreciation of these lovely dogs that has allowed us to develop 'Saffioraire' and it will be this which continues to allow our commitment to remain true to our common goal.
Time is only Experience if you use that time to learn and the hardest part of learning from mistakes is learning to accept you've made them...
Dog breeding is no exception.
